VIsion 2050 - Smart City Villach
Project goal
The main goal of this project is to form a consortium of stakeholders and to develop a common vision of Villach as a smart city. Central to this process will be a sequence of stakeholder workshops. The outcome of the workshops will be transferred into strategy documents, implementation plans and binding agreements between stakeholders.
Summary
Villach has the clear vision of becoming a smart city. The city recognizes the current smart energy demo program as an excellent opportunity to put this vision into concrete terms and to take the next steps towards the implementation of smart city solutions.

Methodology:
Central to this process was a sequence of workshops during which a common vision of Villach as a smart city has been developed by the joint effort and commitment of a number of stakeholders in the area of Villach. Within the project consortium a concept for a demonstration project has been developed.

Activities of the RMA in the project:
The main task for the Ressource Management Agency is project coordinaton. Other tasks are the development of a energy balance of Villach and the estimation of potentials of energy efficiency, energy savings and renewable energy.
